Fact File

Comment: combining project work and high altitude trekking, this itinerary is a challenge with a reward to match. Rather more than “a stroll in the park” but achievable by anyone who is fit and determined to get there.

Project Work: Working with rural communities to improve water supply and sanitation services. Educational assistance provided through local school.

Everest base camp trekEverest Base Camp Trek: Walking through the Solu-Khumbu range to the world’s highest peak. We walk with local guides and over-night in wayside Teahouses which provides both economic benefit to the local people and an insight to Sherpa culture. Trekking at these high altitudes makes the going tough: reaching Base Camp (5,300m) and Kala Patar ridge (5,600m) are our ultimate goals and our efforts are supremely rewarded with the sight of Lhotse, Nuptse and Everest itself.

Accommodation: lodges in Chitwan, camping and family stays during rural village projects. Family and mountain hut accommodation on Everest Base Camp Trek. Meals are all provided and will reflect the local flavours.

Transport: local buses, mountain bikes, local flights.

Group size: 8 to 16 Venturers with Venture leader and local guides.
