Fancy escaping the hype of Euro 2008 this summer? Then why not head for the sunshine and beautiful landscapes of South Africa to play and coach the beautiful game?!

Predominantly aimed at the grass-roots level, this is a great project for anyone interested in working with enthusiastic and often talented young players. Experience the sport you love on a whole new continent!

Having been awarded host of the 2010 World Cup (the first African nation to do so), the love for football in South Africa could not be greater, and nowhere more so than in the coastal city of Port Elizabeth (PE). The townships surrounding PE are full of keen, and often talented, young players who dream of being the next Quentin Fortune or Benny McCarthy.

Your focus will be having fun with these kids. Most come from poor backgrounds, which means that what you bring to them in friendship, coaching and life advice will impact on them and their community in a way you will always remember - and so will they!

Gapsports Although the passion never fades, the opportunities to play and develop in a well-structured environment are very limited. However, by working as a football coach in South Africa, you can allow kids to enjoy the fun and serious sides of football through structured training and matches.

In your time off you will have plenty of opportunities to play football as part of our volunteer sports team where the games and post-match socials are not to be missed!
