This placement would suit... any football lovers![]() Cambodia is not a renowned footballing nation. However, Cambodia's football has been improving over the last few years and the Cambodian Football Association is committed to developing their young footballing potential - they even skipped the qualifiers for the 2006 World Cup in order to concentrate on continuing to develop football's infrastructure at youth and club levels. Over the next couple of years Cambodia hopes to see this decision reap dividends as a new crop of youngsters take to the field. At present school sport in Cambodia is proving popular, so the timing is right to get involved. Young Cambodian players need help to develop their skills. Our coaching placement in Cambodia means you have the chance to work with children in schools and improve their sporting talents. You may work with children as young as ten - a great age for developing potential. Who knows, you could even have a hand in helping these young players on their way to Cambodia's first professional league. The fact that they are one of the weakest football nations in FIFA's rankings does not mean that the game cannot be enjoyed, and it can certainly benefit from help to improve it. Working as a volunteer coach, you will be able to provide this and will get a great satisfaction from seeing the progress your students make. Your level of involvement will depend mainly on your experience. As a coaching assistant you will be working to help to organise players, assist with fitness drills, advise on training, and help with the management of the team when they have competition. When you become more confident you may be asked to take direct responsibility for a team. All volunteer coaches find they can build up good rapport with the children and will often form lasting relationships with the team. Getting involved in all aspects of management means you will quickly become one of the team, and you'll find you get very passionate about how the club progresses. Don't worry if you have little or no coaching experience. We can provide a specific coaching manual to aid your coaching sessions and the manager and his assistants will help you all the way, building your skills and confidence with suggestions and encouragement. The main aim, especially with the younger children, is to make sport great fun for all involved and to create a good atmosphere around the training field.
